I've been involved with the fitness industry now for almost 20 years, most of that as a competitive powerlifter, though I retired from that a few years ago. Now, I make a living as Chairman and CEO of a Sports Science Consulting Firm. And to add to the stress, I am pursuing my Masters Degree in Biomechanics at UNLV, I am a CSCS, a Speed Power Specialist, and I received my USAW this last November at the US Olympic Training Facility in Colorado Springs (hell of an experience!). Hi there, do you have any suggestions for females that would like to start competing? Would it be your local gym? and how do you get the experience in posing? Greatly appreciated in regards to your reply. Kerryann

Thanks for the pointers on the squats. From the looks of it your no slacker, all that hard work's payed off. I'm like Arnorld, just how big are those pipes?

thanks for the compliments, sean.

i don't workout anywhere NEAR as hardcore as i used to, thank god (LOL). as far as my arms go, i have no idea how big they were when i was still competing since we're not really concerned with inches in powerlifting, so to speak. as for now, i'll have to get one of my employees to grab a tape measure and find out...lol

Ok so how do you start at all? I am female, 26, and need to lose 12 lbs and wish to put on muscle and lose excess fat. Is it easier to lose the weight first then train or stick to a diet and train at the same time? Also would you suggest losing man over the way you want to look, he thinks women withmuscles is awful..Jair26

Can I gain muscle and lose fat at the same time taking hydroxycut and whey prot simultaneously. What supplement combinations do you recommend somebody like me. I am on a low fat low cal. diet exercise 6 times a wk, and do jumproping for 30 mins. 6 times a wk. I am 27, 5 '10'' weigh 205 with 28% body fat and would like to get to a 175 - 185 range with about 20% body fat. I know that with the exercise and diet, discipline and patience i will get there, but i want to do it the most efficent way possible. Thanks for any feedback.

I guess there are a lot of people out there that you don't like... does anyone meet your requirements? discipline isn't always a good thing

posted by: rev8ball, on 27-02-2003
Discipline is always a good thing, and is very necessary when seriously pursuing goals of any type. Without it, chaos ensues. And that belief is one of the reasons why I get along with most people quite easily, and vise versa.

Go to Personal Info at the top of the page and click on ft Exercise Program. Then click on "change" near the bottom of the page and on the right next to personal program. About 3 or 4 pages in, you will find the ab program. Hope that helps!

Oh and does Anthony Clark still compete doing rev. grip benches?

posted by: rev8ball, on 01-07-2003
AC is benching 675 in the pic, and, while he no longer competes, he still uses the reverse grip - VERY difficult!

hello...I had a quesiton about daily caloric intake...my intake should be 4200 +/-...isn't this a little too high? I don't know if it shows weekly intake or daily...because if I do 4200 weekly it isn't enough.

Thank You

Slackers are lazy, unproductive, drains on society. Truly, if you need more clarification than that, it is not worth my time...

Hiya, just want to say thank you for your comment. Thank you, yeah I know its one hell of an achievement. I was nominee for Fitness First's New You Achievement Award, I was in deaf TV programme called 'See Hear' and I've been featured in some magazines and newspaper. I couldn't believe that pass the exams give me loads of opportunities. I've opened deaf world's door to become personal trainer because hearing people tells deaf people that they can't be personal trainer, but I've proved them wrong. I just got a job as fitness consultant in Fitness First and the staffs are amazing and supportive. I have my own profile in there and own business cards so I'm very exciting and awaiting for new clients to contact me heh! Anyhow, enough of me chatting heh. Just want to say thanks for the comment. I hope you're well and chat to ya around in the board! Takecare, Pamela x

I've got a suggestion for a great improvement to the Free Trainer printable workout sheets that would greatly help beginners like me... After each excercise name, add a small stick-figure or picture depicting what the workout looks like. ....I do this on my own because I sometimes have a hard time remembering what the exercise IS by name alone. I draw the stick figures and write a note like "overhand grip", "pause 2-seconds", etc.

Just a suggestion.

I don't have any trainers in my area who are free, and I need some more one on one help in order to achieve my goals. I needed a place with weight loss programs in order to keep me on track. Fitclick.com does just that. They have so many resources and I can use all of them if I need help or motivation! http://www.fitclick.com
