A different kind of challenge

I may have gotten in a little over my head with my group of training partners. A good friend of mine decided to join the gym so she could work out with us. I had to spend some time showing her the routine...and she hasn't worked out for 5 years, never done squats, which she did okay but can't go down as far as she should because of recent back surgery...fused vertebrae or a rod in the lower back (can't remember). Anyway, her lower back stays straight, so she can't do the anterior pelvis tilt we do that helps to keep the upper back straight. She's tough, she's a big girl and got clearance from her doctor--she has no weight limits, so I'll let her worry about it. Anyway, I had a real challenge keeping to my 60 sec. rests...sometimes I made it, other times I just skipped the rests to make up for the times I went over. I still got a good workout.

He wasn't nasty about it, but one regular did comment that we were monopolizing the weight room and he felt like he was going to have to pay us to work out in there. He noticed that the group was growing and thought I should start getting paid. (I take my test on Saturday).

Squats: 12x115,12x115,12x115 superset with
Cable Rows: 3 sets, 12x90,12x90,12x90

Hip Extensions on swiss ball: 3 sets, 12 superset with
Dumbbell push press: 3 sets, 12x25,11x25,11x25

Lastly:
Rotational lunges: 3 sets 12 w/20 lb. dumbbells
Superset with
Ball crunches: 3x12 w/10 lb. med ball

Got some nice stretching time in. Then found out in a harsh way that the hot water system for the showers was down. So, I went back to my friend's house and showered there (a little closer than going all the way back home). Just before I finished getting ready I realized I'd locked my keys in the car. Called my bf to bring my spare key and was 30 minutes late for work. Shoot, I so didn't want to go in at all by that time. But I'm here now and working hard as you can tell :-).
