Day 1 of Official Devil Dash 5k Training
So today was my first day of training. I am following a training plan that I had used many years ago when I ran frequently and I was so surprised by myself. It had only called for me to walk/run for a mile and I ended up doing 2 miles, and in record time. Even thought I finished 3 minutes earlier than expected, that is still 3 minutes!!!!
Not too shabby for a girl just out of major surgery a little over a month and a half ago!
I am so happy to have my energy back, I still get tired out (which is what my doctor said is expected for the next 6 months to a year), but in the moment, I feel energized, my breathing was at pace with my running and everything just synced. It's been so long since i've felt that.
So, for today I say, it was awesome training! I feel like I can do a lot more, but I am going to heed doctors advice and gradually pace myself back into it, since it's been a while.
