Day Three: 12/11/2012

Day Three!  I begin by admitting that I didn't do anything physical yesterday; it's finals week and a very busy time for me.  I got back on track today in time for my work outs, though.  I noticed on Day One that running was a little heavy to begin for me, so today I began with five minutes on a stationary bike.  Then, I moved to a treadmill for five minutes; this got a little difficult, so I moved back to the stationary bike at a more rapid pace for another ten minutes.  I am aching for an eliptical!  Having sustained injuries in previous athletic ventures, treadmills and running put too much pressure on my knees.  I am thinking of trying to go to my university's gym instead of my apartment complex's gym, but I love the feling of solidarity of being at the apartment's gym--no one watching, no one judging.  Anyway, I was happy to extend the duration of my cardio, even if the exercise itself was less strenuous.  While at the gym, I did some of those hanging ab exercises, where I lift my legs to my abs--10 reps to begin and YIKES, it was difficult!

I headed back to the apartment to complete my at home routine.  I set it for beginner today and found that it felt just right.  I could have used more ab work, though.  I felt like the workout focused a lot on arms.  For this reason, I found a yoga routine focusing on abs on Youtube:  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AfYKy2G-9ak.  It was a little cheesy and did not focus on breathing like I enjoy, but it gave my abs a beating!

I concluded my workout with a ten minute yoga flow for flexibility and range of motion:  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4PgIfOOHwH8.

I'm feeling in good spirits!  I feel like I could do a lot more exercise, but I don't want to over-do it.  If anyone has suggestions for some yoga or pilates training I can do online, please share!
