First Day Back
Yesterday was my first evening back at the gym, and my first time doing any kind of weight training in far too long. I can't believe how weak my core has become, but it was painfully obvious as I did crunches and looked more like a fish out of water, flopping around on the floor! No question, I'm feeling the results today in my lower body...but it's a good hurt.
I did a little wandering around, reaquainting myself with the various machines available, and just reminded myself that although people may be watching me wander a little cluelessly everyone has to start somewhere. My time at the gym went a little longer than expected (I added 20 minutes of cardio at the beginning), so I might need to work on picking up the pace a little. I'm hopeful that will come naturally once I'm familiar with where I'm headed in the gym for each workout.
Regardless, it always feels good to take the time to do something positive for myself. I'm looking forward to going tomorrow evening.
