Goodbye Pecan Pie

Got a late start this morning--partner was late--then both squat racks were being used. Tried doing Smith squats but they felt so awkward, we started with the lunges. This was actually a nice change. Usually I am dreading the lunges after the squats. It was nice to have them out of the way. The lunges really take so much more coordination and balance--I think I like this order.

Walking lunges -- 3 sets 12x20's superset with 3 sets 20 jump squats.

Squats -- 3 sets 12x95 (2), 10x95 superset with 3 sets of 20 plie squats.

Step ups -- 3 sets 12x20's (12 on each side per set) superset with 3 sets 20 reverse lunges (each side).

We ran out of time in the morning for SLDL's so we did them before our evening cardio:

SLDL's--3 sets 12x85 superset with 3 sets 20 swiss ball hip extensions.

HIIT on a bike--completed 12 intervals; total 32 minutes with warm up and cool down.

Diet improving every day. Plain yogurt with berries and vanilla protein after workout followed by oatmeal. Lunch was a bowl of beef barley soup. I had 4 See's candies. One didn't count because it had nasty banana cream filling, so tossed it. Had the other half of my yogurt/berry/protein blend before going back to the gym. Dinner was a nice mixed green (including spinach) salad with tomato and avocado. For dressing I mixed roasted pepper flavored hummus with some plain yogurt and Mrs. Dash. Not bad! Half plain sweet potato, steamed mustard greens, a few slices of prime rib with horseradish (prepared horseradish I mixed with plain nonfat yogurt and a touch of sour cream). I know--probably should have lived without the horseradish. But I'm done with the prime rib.
