Hello,

When you're feeling lathargic and have no enegery, as well as, a trash can full of reasons why to not work out ... Look yourself in the mirror ... slap your self a time or two and say, "Love PT... Need PT... Got to have PT .... PT ... PT ...ooh rah."

I know it is just a quick "fire up" mental exercise but it some times helps. I live in pain like the proverbial fish lives in water. In the last part of 2009, my liver Doctor said no more perscription medications.... nada.... none... zip... OFF EVERY THING OR YOU ARE GOING TO DIE. Note: This news did not hurt as bad as when he stopped me from eating Sushi... Now that hurt.

I was on Tramadol, for pain another for nausia another for acid reflux and so on and so forth. Funny thing when I stop taking the tramadoil and flexiril I STOPPED HAVING ACID REFLUX. Ha, I was happy. Then I found Jillian Micheals book "Mastering Your Matabolism" and things started to change quickly.

Here I am now at 175 lbs and I feel better then I have in 20 years. I'm still dying of cirrosis, stage 4 but my levels are all normal... For now. My muscles are even starting to return.

Let me put this in context for you ... In the late part of 2009 when Dr Faruqui took me off all perscription meds I weight around 320 or so. That's 140 pounds of blubber off in just 2 1/2 years...  not to mention alll the muscle wieght that has been subsituted for fat.

I do work out 3 to 6 times a week. Monday, Wednesday and Friday I do weights (high reps and high sets, for now). While Sunday, Tuesday and Thursday I do Abs .... LOTS and Lots of Abs exercises. To some one with a back a bad as mine is... Lower back exercises, like Coach Nick Thortons Hip Thrust, the Romainian Dead Lift and the ever popular Good Monings are tantamount to continued movement. Exercise equals lower pain levels and some freedom of movement .... While no exercise equals higher pain levels and less freedom of movement. It really is just that simple.

Nutrition is still my sticking point. Being raised in the Chinese Martial Arts traditions and Traditional Chinese Medical thought on the subject, I tend to eat Chinese style foods mostly (it's what I personally like) such as, stir fry, as well as rice and some whole wheat pasta. Along with allll the H2O I can or care to drink.

As the Korean Dramas are fond of saying, "Fighting!!!"

Good Journey,
Xeke "Nyunian" Xung
