The jury is still out on today's workout. It was a back and biceps day. I definitely feel that my shoulders got worked. These lateral raises are absolutely brutal! I don't think my back got worked very well. I did enjoy the row machine, but I couldn't find a machine to do the machine presses and so I don't think I got as good a work out on the back as I could have. The biceps were burning during the work out and I worked both the preacher curl machine and the barbells to muscle failure, but I don't feel much right now.
Tomorrow I go in for some minor surgery so I don't think I'm going to be doing anything tomorrow, and I may have to miss Wednesday. But, I've made it to week 4 and if anything, I've even picked up a little bit of drive to keep going back to that torture chamber.
I'm living proof that if you take it slow (not too slow, but slow) and you monitor the numbers and your body, you'll get results. I'm not saying I've dropped a pant size or lost 20 lbs, and you can't even really tell much difference physically when you look at me. However, I can see a difference with my heart monitor, in how much steadier my heart rate is while doing cardio. I can go for 25 minutes on an elliptical or exercise bike at a respectable rate and I never would have believed I could have done that before. I feel more energy, I feel slightly stronger, and as a result of all of this put together, I feel pretty good about myself! Sure, I still look like a pot bellied pig, but that will eventually disappear. It's only been 4 weeks, but wow, it's already been 4 weeks! And the difference I see inside is very evident.
