I actually missed logging...

Woke up Monday at 4:00 a.m., looked in the mirror, then left Maricela a message that I was going back to bed. Ditto on Tuesday. My body was begging for a break. So, I decided I wouldn't even try on Wednesday and took a planned day off. I have this nagging strained feeling in my right glute and hamstring that is becoming a concern. Even after all these days off I feel an uncomfortable soreness (not a pain, but not the normal soreness either) when I stretch that side. So, today I decided to stay away from the SLDL's. I hope by not working my legs for another 4 days will do the trick. Here's what the workout looked like:
Warmups: assisted pullups...-80x10,-70x10,-60x6
Bentover BB rows: 12x70,10x75,8x80
Narrow Grip Pulldowns: 12x90,10x100,4x110,3x100 (wanted to finish that 8th rep for the last set, couldn't get it)
back extension: 3 sets x 12 x bodyweight (boring, boring, boring and did feel them on that right glute a bit).
Leaving out those SLDL's sure made this a quick a dirty workout. I did attempt single leg SLDL's with a dumbbell, but really didn't like what I was feeling, so gave those up.
I bought new New Balance running shoes on Friday...I've never owned real running shoes before. I'll go back to the gym tonight and give them a 'run' on the treadmill. They better be good because I don't like spending money on shoes--especially sneakers :-). I'm hoping they will save my knees, but perhaps I am asking too much.
