I gained 3 pounds

Although I am burning more calories I recently switched up my workout and added strength training..a program actually from freetrainers... I am being ruled by sweets somehow and normally I am not a sweet junkie at all... So I am unsure if my weight gain is teh effect of cookies or strength training but probably a little of both.. What can I do to substitute these sweets and eat something healthier and better for me???
