Thank you, charlie826, I deleted the earlier post by mistake
Yesterday:
I'd had a very long day at work so I wasn't at my best. I hadn't eaten much all day. I did 3 minutes on the crosstrainer ( I usually do 5min cardio before weightlifting, and 25 min after).
I then had my weightlifting session. It was legs & calves day.
I followed my FT plan:
-thigh stretch
- Smith machine squats ( all measurements are in KG. 1kg=2.2lb): 12 x 10kg, 12x10, 10x10, 10x10
-Seated Hamstring Curl; I tried to do 20kg but stopped after the 5th rep, it was too much. I reduced it to 10kg= 12x10, 12x10, 10x10, 10x10
- calf stretch
- Seated calf raises: 12x10, 12x10, 12x10, 12x10.
After I finished I realized that I might have overt-rained my thigh. My thigh felt numb , I had to hold the rails to sllllowwwly walk down the stairs. I skipped my post-weights cardio & even had trouble driving home, but I managed to get home.
When I woke up today both my thighs (more specifically my rectus femoris) were sore. I also had a very long day at work (I'm a dentist, but now working as a hospital manager) and my thigh was killing me. I decided to skip today's workout. I usually have Mondays & Fridays off, so I decided to take Thursday off this week and train on Friday instead. Being a dentist, I know a thing or 2 about medicine, so I knew it's very unlikely to injure both thighs at the same time. I called a surgeon friend who told me the same, he told me to rest today & take a muscle relaxant (Relaxon) and topical Voltaren if needed. So, I know it's probably nothing serious, but I hope the pain will subside so I can workout again by tomorrow.
