I consider myself active and have been for the past four years. In 2012 I was approaching 300 lbs and knew I had to do something! I started by walking short distances with little resistance. Then I started adding longer distances and incorporating hills in to my walks. That first summer didn't see much change, but I kept at it and started to make minor changes to my diet with the biggest change coming in the reduction of pop consumed. This led to a significant weight reduction ... along with the continued exercising I dropped 80 lbs by the New Year. Since then I have been mostly consistent with minor fluctations of between plus or minus 7 kgs. I do a lot more than walk now ... I hike, run (jog) and bike quite a bit. On the bike I am considered fast, not so much when running but I do have some pretty good endurance and can go on long hikes, walks and bike rides. My goal is to lose another 10 kgs and stay closer to a 90 kgs weight range while increasing my overall cardio capabilities. I also want to be doing a lot better when it comes to nutrition.
