Off and running! ... OK, crawling, but so what!

Hello again, world! Well, guess what... I hired a personal trainer! Yup. My friend from work and I work with him twice a week - first thing he told us was to eat 6 times a day! WHAT!!??? I got from eating once - maybe - to eating 6 times a day and it's been tough to remember to eat and find the motivation at the end of the night to make the food for the next day. I'm one of those people that won't eat a salad unless it's fresh, so instead, I bring raw fruits and vegetables as snacks.
My friend gave me a whole grocery bag full of grapefruits from her relatives' grapefruit tree... yum. I tried one, and it was SO TART I haven't had the heart to have another one.
Exercise has been another ball game altogether! Frank is starting us off very slowly on the machines and using our own body weight to work the lower body. He's teaching us to stand, sit, and balance all over again. Very interesting approach - as someone who's done a lot of body work in the past it's really cool to get a new spin on things. The first time we worked out it seemed easy, but for the next 4 days our quads were SO SORE it felt like we'd been doing 300lb leg presses for hours on end. It hurts so good!!!
We gave a performance on Saturday for a retirement home group, luxury retirement accommodations for sure. They enjoyed it so much, I wouldn't have cared whether we were paid or not. It felt more like a ministry than a concert, and that's the best feeling in the world.
