This was an interesting workout, and it went fairly quickly.
DB Squats w/OH Press 4 sets 12x15 (I did these like Fly--I didn't have the coordination for the rowing up move)
Split squats (static lunges?) with lateral raise
3 sets 12x15
SLDL w/rear delt row- 3 sets 12x20 lb. dumbbells (confused me a little because I would use a much heavier weight for the sldl's that I could manage for the rows--and the way this exercise is done you wouldn't really be able use two sets of weights.
Front squats 3 sets 12x40
Superset with front raises 3 sets 12x10
Abs--bored of the same old crunches, we did 3 sets of 20 of those things wear you balance on your butt on the end of the bench and bend your knees and crunch then straighten your legs--we used to call these jack knives but I know there is a cuter name and it is on the tip of my tongue, but I think you know what I mean.
Then, 3 sets of 15 hanging leg raises--well, not really hanging, but one of those contraptions where you are supporting your weight with your forearms on the pads and everthing else is hanging. That's it.
I liked the front squats--much easier to squat low with the weight in front. However, I held the barbell across the front of my shoulders as I saw demonstrated online and tonight I have two lovely matching bruises on my upper arms. Overall I enjoyed the variety factor of this workout.
Came back tonight to put in my 40 minutes of cardio--tired of upright movements, so I chose the bike, but wasn't sure that was the best choice since I plan to take the cycling class in the gym at 7:30 a.m. Saturday.
I was too tired last night to make sure I had enough meals for today, so I didn't bring anything with me. I was so tired, I made a fresh pot of strong coffee, had two full cups and went straight to sleep.
I did have my preworkout berry, yogurt, protein powder, green tea shake.
Breakfast: cafeteria oatmeal with a spattering of raisins
(yes, I had no bananas)
Lunch (not until 1:30): my El Pollo Loco favs -- two chicken thighs, pinto beans, salad with salsa only. And I ate the two flour tortillas that I usually give a way. Because that was going to hold me until dinner, since I wasn't prepared with my mini meals.
Dinner will be: sweet potato, mahi mahi and probably my beloved red chard.
