workout two days in a row?

Hi, I know we are supposed to give a day of rest inbetween weight training, but sometimes, especially on the two days rest in a row, I feel like working out. Is that going to do any damage?

That's what I do...... (I work out 6 days a week.......)
Just:
1) never do exactly the same training and exercises two days in a row
2) make sure of eating enough and especially right after the work out and
3) get your beauty sleep, you'll need it!!

I work out 5-6 days a week, too. I do cardio about 4 days, and I weight train different body parts on different days.such as...

day one-back and abs
day two-tri's and bi's sometimes abs
day three-legs
day four-chest and abs
day five-rest

...and so forth. I vary it sometimes too.

If you do, say, legs one day and the next day they are sore, you should not work them again until they feel better. You do more harm than good that way. I find that my routine is good for me b/c when I do a different body part every day the other body part is recooperating. Then by the time I get back to the first one, it's not sore anymore. Hope I helped.

There are many many ways to split your workouts up. Most beginners don't need to, as total body workouts a few times a week are enough, with a day inbetween, once that routine gets old, or you plateau, you can split to uper on day, lower the next, or into pushing exercises one day, pulling the next, or chest/back, legs, arms, etcetera. There are a lot of posts about workout routines, page through them and you will find there are as many ways to split up your routine as there are people on this site (okay, maybe not that many, but a lot). just don't work the same muscles two days in a row and allow yourself a day off every few days to recover.
