I'm a new but enthusiastic (I asked for and received a set of weights for mother's day last month) member beginning my third week on the 'at home' program. I have been doing well and already seeing results of my efforts except in one area. No matter how I try, I cannot do a single 'chin between chairs'. Not only that, but when I do try, I get a zinging pain along my shoulders that lasts for quite a while afterward.
Is there something else I can substitute that works the same set of muscles?
crackerjack,
from the pain you describe "zinging pain" (i'm assuming that's a sharp shooting pain)-- you should back off of that exersize for sure. the good pain you want is more of a hot or burning sensation.
if you have dumbells-seated bent over back flyes, seated bent over 2 arm row, or standing bent over 2 arm rows
maybe if you play with the amt of waight you're lifting, the chins between cahirs won't give you such pain. you may be able to do it resting on your butt instead of on the heels of your feet.
