i have been at it for a while now, have been watching my diet, and doing my cardio...but still am not loosing the fat that i want from my waist. i know that fat reduction is not spot specific, and is a function of overall body comp, but my chest, legs, and back are all shedding fat and gaining mass, while my belly stays flabby and big...any suggestions

Maybe you could try doing more abdominal exercises using resistance. If you use weight on cruchs and other exercises it seems like that would build more muscle. I've always heard that muscle burns fat, so you may want to try it.

Muscle burns fat..thats true, but it really takes time to shed the belly.
Think about it, it didn't take you 2 weeks, 2 months or 2 years, to get that way, so it really takes time and hard work to get where we want to be.
Hope this helps.
You may want to really re-examine your diet again.

i have structured my diet to loose fat, such as low cal intake, low carb intake, high fiber and protein, and lots of water. i suppose i could start using resistance training on my abs, but wont that just make the muscles bigger? i was wondering if there is anything to do to get a smaller waist.
