Hi Everyone,
I've been here on freetrainers following the excercise and nutrition program for leaning up and toning. I started out at a low weight with a lot of fat on my body. Now I'm losing even more weight and it's kinda scaring me. I always get right around the recommended caloric intake, sometimes the proportions are a bit off. I just updated my profile so please look their for details and let me know what changes should be made.
Thanks

I would highly recommend that you increase your calories a little bit more. For your activity level, you need the extra calories to support your energy levels. I would recommend that you increase calories in favor of protein and maybe a lttle bit more fat from healthy sources( natural pb, olive oil, canola oil, nuts) You need to be careful and for awhile, you may need to cut back on the cardio to about 3 or maybe even 2 sessions per week, because at 97 pounds, I don't think you can afford to lose anymore weight. Good luck and be careful.

Yeah, well that's why I was concerned. This certainly wasn't my goal! I will increase caloric intake and see if that helps. The strange thing is, I still have a lot of fat! I don't know what my exact % is, but there's enough so that you can't see the muscles underneath very well.
Thanks for the reply.

Actually sassy, you wouldn't want this problem. Being severly underweight is considered a form of malnutrition. You run into the same risks as overweight individuals. Achieveing and maintaining a healthy BW is the best solution.

DPking...as my profile says...I am 5 foot three inches and97lbs and shrinking. Like I said, I've still got a lot of fat, which is why I'm so LIGHT (fat is light) and not much muscle.

Tara, I would suggest seeing a doctor. Your weight is entirely too low. What is your daily diet and exercise program like?

sorry, i didnt know how underweight you were. i thought you meant you were at a stable weight and were getting smaller by the day or so. even then, thats serious. i apologize for my previous statement. i can be real immature sometimes, geez.

Tara, something's not right. I agree that you should see a doctor just to be on the safe side. You could work out until the cows come home and still have some sort of physical ailment preventing you from keeping weight on.

Maybe there's a problem with your thyroid. If it's over-active you can lose weight for no apparent reason. Go see your doctor.
