I heard that by not drinking while eating, your body is able to digest the food better. When you drink, the water dilutes the stomach acids. Is this just a myth? Or would it help to wait until after eating to drink so that you can absorb all the nutrients and stuff better?

Maybe thats why my mother used to say "don't touch the drink until you finish eating" !

Yes, to be blunt, whoever told you that, or where you heard that from, don't EVER get information from them again. Your body is about 70% water and is necessary for EVERY bodily function INCLUDING digesting your food. Water is needed to transport all of the nutrients into your blood and other areas. By not drinking water, you are only putting more stress on your body. I have heard this crappy advice before and it is sad that it is even out there. So, when you are eating, you need to be drinking water before during and after meals and throughout the day.

I know that the food getes digested better if you drink water half hr before or after you eat. I deffinately notice the difference... I get bloated if I drink someting while eating. But if it doesn't affect you then I wouldn't worry about it.
