i work out between 4 and 6 days a week, and am generally satisfied with the way im shaping up...but i haven't been able to get rid of some residual fat over the lower abs. whats the best thing(s) i could do for this?

Try shocking your body by doing HIIT for your cardio sessions (you'll find an entire article about it here on the site under "resources".) Make sure you're changing what sort of cardio you are doing ie: one day elliptical, next day treadmill, etc.,

Are you also doing weight training, as well? The more muscle you have on your body, the more that you're body is capable of burning fat 24/7.

How lean are you? It may be some water retention, I have found that to be the problwm with leaner people.

It depends, some ways are to drink more water or reduce sodium intake to just what you obtain from food and of course, exercise.
