Hi,
I just found this site, and I'm hoping you will be able to answer my question. I started a weight and cardio program 3 weeks ago. I'm doing cardi 4-5 times per week and I'm doing weights 3 times per week. I've changed my diet to 1200-1500 calories per day and increased the amount of protein I'm eating. After 3 weeks of hard work, I haven't lost any weight! Is it possible to gain that much muscle mass in just three weeks? Enough to ofset any weight loss? I'm to the point of being frustrated, but I do feel a lot better on this plan. Any help would be appreciated!

Throw the scale away. Go by your measurements, how your clothes feel, and how you feel. Muscle weighs 2x what fat weighs, but it takes up 1/2 of the space. It would not be unusual to lose 5lbs fat but gain 7lbs muscle over the same time period. This would put you weighing 2lbs more than you did to start with, but you would LOOK thinner. This is why you should not be using the scale to measure your results.
You don't say how much you weigh now, but to lose fat and gain muscle, you should be eating approximately 1gram protein per pound body weight, .75gram carb per pound, and .25fat per pound.
Also, give yourself more time than 3 weeks. Dedication, persisitence, and determination are key.
