I have never done powercleans before and I was wondering are they good for a total body workout?

I was wondering if anyone can explain how to do powercleans?

Power cleans are a great way to build your shoulders...although it is considered a compound exercise. As far as an explanation, try doing a search as others have asked this question.
Good luck and feel free to e-mail me if you are unsuccessful in your search.

Try this link.... really good description, and with photos.

And, by the way, powercleans are a great full body lift, as are any of the Olympic and Powerlifting exercises.

Oh I did that one last Friday and I can tell you my body was aching (especially my shoulders!) during the whole weekend.
Good exercise (and it's nice to change!)

Also try HANGING CLEANS. It is like the upper half of a powerclean. You hang the weight at about knee level and throw is up. It involves less of the legs so you have to use less weight but i feel more of a shock to my shoudlers that with regular powercleans. give them a try and see how you like them
