I checked out these web sites, and I will tell you that th edoorway.com site is OBVIOUSLY feeding off of the scare of aspartame. Compare the 2 web sites and they are worlds apart. The first site is professional AND includes published studies backing all of there statements. The 2nd is a typical flashy site geared towards the uninformed person who will beleive anything. If aspartame was so bad for you, The FDA would without a doubt get rid of it.

I used to be concerned with aspartame, too. After looking at actual scientific research, I've concluded that its perfectly fine. All it consists of is aspartic acid and phenylalanine bound together with a methyl group. The "bad" thing about aspartame is the methyl group (free radical, bad for the eyes, etc). However, one 8oz glass of tomato juice has 8x more of these harmful methyl groups than one 12oz can of diet soda, but its consisdered healthy. The FDA says the safe limit for aspartame is the equivalent to 40 diet sodas a day. My advice: don't worry about it.
