Since both oils have high contents of mono and poly saturated fats and very low to none saturated fats, the benefits of both are similar correct? Any opinions or educated comments would be helpful (when to take, how much)... thank you.

You get the omega3's from flax oil. Olive oil (over time) helps lower the bad levels (ldl) of cholesterol, and helps raise the good (hdl) levels of cholesterol.
A tablespoon per day is plenty.
Olive oil is loaded with calories like flax, so don't over do it.

These beneficial fats are also very good on a maintaining muscle diet, that is low carbs. Will give the needed calories (9 per gr.), while actually helping metabolize fats. We all know what happens to excess carbs when glycogen stores are full, and maintenance calories are reached.
