I have currently been using the protein powder "Isopure" I cant really tell if it is doing anything or not, but I want to get the maximum protein powder without all the carbohydrates and sugars, is this powder considered good by advanced lifters? Any advice on which protein to take would be appreciated. thanks.

What are the Numbers on the label? Protien per serving? scoop size? Scoops per serving? Carbs? Fat?

I prefer NitroTech, but I haven't tried IsoPure.

Isopure is an ion-exchanged whey protein completely void of fat and carbs with 50 grams of protein per serving. Isopure is far superior to Nitrotech or other powders that contain any fat or carbs. This is a really good protein powder and provides 4.6 grams of glutamine per serving and tons of BCAA's. If you are looking to get the best powder for your money, then you are on the right track.

The others put in some carbs, etc., so that when you take it on an empty stomach your body doesn't process the protein for energy. Thus you NEED those extra non-protein ingredients. I'd use the Isopure only if you've already taken in some calories from other sources within the last 30 minutes--otherwise, the extra expense is a waste.

The point of Isopure is to get quality protein without the fat and carbs. And, no, you don't have to take in anything else. If somebody is on a lower carb diet, which sounds like the case here, then fat and protein will become the primary sources of energy. If this is the case, then no money is being wasted at all. And the other powders have carbs, fat and sugar because quite frankly, it is cheaper and of a somewhat lower grade quality. ALL whey protein is derived from milk, but all whey protein is not created equal. It all depends on your goals.
