Gotcha; I caught a rerun of the program at midnight on CNN (DirecTV) and it was really good. The SARS stuff was boring, but he got into vitamins and supplements too. Once again, tea was pushed bigtime. He recommended echinacea for about five days during colds or cold season's worst time, can't remember. In response to the NY Times article that Americans are taking TOO many vitamins, he responded that he is a big believer in supplements and that he himself takes a One-A-Day (think he meant in general, not specifically that brand).
Anyway, since this has turned into a recap, he mentioned that it has been known for a long time that too much Vitamin A is toxic and that too much of any vitamin or supplement is bad. So Larry King basically asked how the hell we'd know how much of what to take. The Doc's response was basically that you have to find a source you trust that is advising on which supplements to take and what brand. He of course recommended his own website for this as well at http://www.drweilselfhealing.com/
One of his big things on the show was about longevity. He was in Okinawa (he brought his 92-year-old mother with him to encourage her) where there is the highest concentration of over-100-year-olds to study lifestyles, diet, etc.
Their diets are laden with fruits, vegetables, etc. They have high quality air and water, and they are all active. He had spoken with an 87-year-old and a 96-year-old lady who still worked their fields. The elders in the community are treated like gold mines, and they are always included in community events. All of this played a role in his opinion.

He was on King about3 months ago, and the show was much better, of coarse sars was not a threat. But all of his ideas are solid medicine, and not a farce.
I liked the way he talked about the NY times report though.
All old news.

I like some of the stuff Weil presents, but I don't like others so much. I'm heading out of town tonight, can whoever watches post some of the key points here?
