Hi. I just joined today. I got my training outline, and in about an hour and a half I'm going to be working out. I really hope this works for me. If anyone has any suggestions on how to get motivated to run (to gain endurance for running 2 miles), I would really appreciate it. Thanks so much!!

Which area of the military are you in?
Good luck....I do great on the bike ...but running, I'm still trying to last 1 mile...lol...
We'll get there with a little determination, won't we? :o)

Miss her so much...Haven't heard from her in a while...
Been away from your family for extended periods of time and have any suggestions on what I can send to her to brighten her day?

If she has e-mail, then I would e-mail with as much news as possible (maybe filter the bad stuff a little). My mom just got back from being in Kuwait for 2 months. I e-mailed her everyday. She told me that she really looked forward to getting my e-mails. I couldn't always report earth moving news so I just wrote the stupid little stuff that went on everyday. Care packages are always nice. Lots of pictures are good too.
I haven't really been away for long periods of time, but my unit is on alert so...there's always that chance.

Hi Chris and welcome. I'm like you - not a fan of running. Best thing I find is a Walkman with good music, preferably something with a good pace to keep you going. All the best and if you think of any other ideas for keeping you going while running let me know :)

Welcome to FT Chris and good luck with your goals. When I first started at the track I bought one of those silly little gadgets that track your milage and put that thing on my hip and tried to beat it each time I went out. I seem to have to have numbers to compare with, then beat them.
