I need to lose 119 pounds... to be at 150, my goal. I'm new here, my workout starts monday. It should (at a pound a week) take approx. 3 years... DANG.... I really wanted to be fit for high school (am a 9th grader) now, at the best, I'll be at the perfect weight when i'm a senior, counting i don't grow anymore, which is impossible.

It's all good. :) Congratulations for taking care of that extra weight while you are young! You will live much longer, and you will be in shape just in time for all the college girls! Woooo!

Way to go Gambit. Remember that travelling a long road begins with that first step. Maybe consider setting very realistic short term goals to start. They will seem a whole lot more achievable. And when you reach your short term goal, set another, and then another. The next few years of your life will really fly by. Set very clear goals, but have fun undertaking your new challenges. You'll be surprised how much easier it is when you take small steps and enjoy the ride! Plus, you'll get lots of great info, support and motivation from the folks on this site! Best of luck to ya!

I was quite overweight as a teen. There's nothing better than running into the people who used to pick on my because I wasn't thin,--after highschool most of them got fat!! I'm in the best shape of my life. Congratulations on taking such a positive step toward better health at a young age. You can and will reach your goals if you simply refuse to give up. Side note--highschool is just a few years of your life, don't worry about it too much.

Case in point: I went to a party the other day with two girls who I grew up with. This is what they told the people at the party about me: "she used to be chubby and kind of a nerd. Now she's thin, hot, and she could kick your butt". (!) The funny thing was that I probably could have!
