in 2 months from now im moving to the States. im not sure that i would have the time to do what im doing nowdayz. and the money to buy so much food. so i dont know what i should be doing, either i can stop training and then if i see that i have the funds and the time to continue then i'll go on, or to not worry about it at all... but i dont know whats there waiting for me in the states so i think im gonna stop training, so basiclly my question will be "how do i do that??". i dont wanna get fat... thnx in advance. |

I posted this awhile back, maybe it will help you:
10 Tips for Building Big Muscles on a Small Budget 1. Buy Carbs in Bulk. Buy oatmeal, brown rice, potatoes, and beans in bulk or buy the larger sized containers when they are on sale. 2. Never buy full price protein. Meat can be frozen for several months. Watch newspaper circulars for “teaser” sales of meats designed to bring customers in the store. Tuna, chicken breast, and lean beef cuts are ALWAYS is on sale somewhere. Look for "reduced for quick sale" or other "value pack" deals and stock up. 3. Shop using a grocery list so you don't buy on impulse. 4. Buy Generic. Let go of your brand & store loyalties. Shop by best value, not brand name. 5. Limit purchases of toiletries & cleaning products& Processed foods. This is the area that runs up your food bill. You don't need specialty cleaners for everything in the house or frozen meals that aren't clean enough or high enough in protein for a bodybuilding diet. 6. Don't throw anything away. Freeze extra rice or left over pasta in "snack" baggies. 7. Primarily shop the outer ring of the store. Most of what you really need (vegetables and protein) are in the outer ring of the store. Center aisles are generally full of empty calorie items. 8. Make your own salads. Bagged lettuce and precut vegetables can cost 3-4 times the price of a uncut version of the same food that provides twice the servings. You can buy two heads of dark leafy greens to make into a into a big salad or cut up a few pounds of broccoli for the same grab & go convenience. 9. Limit purchases of nutritional supplements. This is probably most applicable to those who are anxious to find magic pills that build muscles and buy every new supplement on the market. Buy one flavor of protein at a time and buy extra when it is on sale. Don't go crazy buying products which promise the results that only consistent diet and hard training produce. 10. Eat clean..at home. Learn to cook. Stay home. Save your money for next Tuesday's meat sale. -------------- I will lift my own weight someday!!!!! i always seem to run into this problem too! i think the biggest thing that saves money is to stay away from restaurants. most of my money goes down the drain on one meal at some restaurant when i could have made food at home for a week with the same amount of money.-------------- Angie |

Sandysford why r u getting pissed??
i didnt mean to offend in any way. simpley everything u've listed, im already doing it... basiclly nobody gave me an answer to the question i've posted so i thought at least if somebody could post how much money he/she spends monthly on food will somehow help me to realize what it would be like. i dont see a reason for u to get offended but hey its ur right of course. all i can say is sorry for whatever i may have said that u didnt like... restaurants???? i keep myself aways from places that come under that category. i prefer going to a pub instead. :)) my sister is a huge fan of going to fansy restaurants. thats why her overdraft never ends... :)) my biggest money spending problem is PUBS!!!!!!! this month i've limitted myself and accually for the first time not even once went out to a pub this month. :)) progress heh... |

xlsp, you didn't offend me in any way at all, I was trying to help, I guess what happened with me is that I misunderstood you on the information that you wanted. Hey I am not mad at all, I wish you the best of everything when you get here and I even asked you to keep us posted on your move. I myself plan to move out west sometime in the future, a place where I know no one. I think what you are doing is very exciting, I only wish the best for you, good luck and good fortune to you when you get here. PS, I love Boston, what a great place for you to start out in. We spend way to much on supplments. When BB1fit is in training you can bet that we will spend $100.00 aweek on supplements. I order things maybe once a month and the bill there alos runs about $100.00. Now that we arn't training to do competitions that has gone way down, maybe on a ave. of $25.00 aweek, give or take a few dollors here and there. and again you didn't offend me at all.-------------- I will lift my own weight someday!!!!! Sandy well so i guess i got u wrong. english is not my first lenguage of course, so sometimes im getting things kindo wrong. heh 100$ a month is not so scary. here its alot more(around 250$-350$). well i guess if a rent would be around 800$+100$=900$ and some pocket money to spend here and there would come up to around 1500$. if i'll be able to find a job wich would give me 2000$ a month, then this is not bad, not bad at all!!! whats the min wage there though?? anybody knows?? |

$5.15 an hour is what min wage is, and I am glad we got our little misunderstanding cleared up. I hope you are having a wonderful weekend.-------------- I will lift my own weight someday!!!!!
