This site looks great and the community support just seems fabulous. I do have a question on the nutrition guide I've been given.
I am 5'6" 151lb, female who would like to lose the fat (2 pants sizes) and (fantasy here) get ripped (or as ripped as I can get). I will be doing strength training 4 days/week and 100 minutes of cardio weekly. The nutrition guide says this:
Protein - 151 g .. maximum 10% variance is acceptable
Carbohydrates - 302 g .. maximum 10% variance is acceptable
Fats - 25 g .. maximum 10% variance is acceptable
Total Calories - 2011 .. calculated maximum, do not exceed for current goal
Does that seem right? I seriously doubt I can eat 150 grams of protein, maybe 100grams. And 25g of fat seems low. Also the calories seem high. Most everywhere else says about 1500 cals daily to lose weight. But if those in the know(you all) say I will reach my goals at this I will give it a go. Thanks so much for any advice, suggestions, comments.

Hi tj135 and welcome to freetrainers.
The numbers are a little off in the carb side. In my opinion they are 100 too much.
You need the xtra protein because you will be doing resistance training and need to rebuild the muscles you work in the gym. Usually.8 to 1 gram of protein for every lb of body weight. If you can't seem to get enough protien from good foods, thats when you would need a protein supplement, it comes in powder form (whey Isolate) or a total meal replacement with other nutrients and vitamins in it.
Your fat is alright. Just be sure you take in good fats from the right sources. No hydrogenated stuff. Olive oil, omega 3's from salmon, peanut butter, safflower oil. Those are just a few.
Hope this helps.

So, if the carbs are 100g too high should I lower the calorie intake to 1611 then or not?

Try at around 1800 calories. See how that goes, if you find yourself needing more energy put the carbs up a little.
Rule of thumb is 12 -15 calories per lb of bodyweight.
15 is usually to gain where as 13-14 will maintain.
Good Luck.

Carivan, I just read my response to you and realized I forgot to say THANKS! Didn't mean to be rude, just in a hurry to get my plan in gear.

Hermit Crabs?! <smile> Cool. Are they very difficult to handle?
Glad to see you're going at this full force :o)
Best of luck.

Hermit crabs are sooo easy. You just need to make sure they have food, water, and give them a dip in some water(bathe them) once or twice a week. They are very cool when they climb around. They'll climb on your hands and they have eaten apples right out of my hand too. They are relaxing to play with.
They don't smell and have no known diseases known to man.
