Whats up everybody? I am pretty new to bodybuilding and have some questions and comments. I am not going to ask the age old question: How long until I see results?, because I pretty much know the answer. Here is my situation: I am in pretty much the BEST situation to get big and built. I am in the military. I am 6'0, 175, and I am an endomorph (hardgainer). I go to the gym here and there, but never keep up because something always comes up. Also, sometimes I become frustrated with all that bodybuilding intels, like keeping a proper diet, lifting at what times etc....yada yada, everyones been there. But the things that make it easy for me are I live 10 feet away from a very nice gym, and just 20 minutes to a VERY NICE HiFi Gym, and they are absolutely free to me. The nutrition part kills me though. Protein costs a pretty penny, especially at my present salary. Here are my questions though.
1) Is training a muscle once a week effective for making major gains?
2) What are the best and least exspenvie protein supplements? Right now I use myoplex, becasue it is the first protein shake I could stomach, and now I cna drink them like they are nothin.
3) I am planning on using creatine later in my lifting, mainly after I make gains through using just protein. Should I use creatine for a long time, or just until I reached my desired size? Also, I've heard of creatine pills...are they effecive?
I will have more questions in the future, but for now this is suffice. It would be great if you could help me out.

training a muscle once a week is actually ideal for bodybuilding. training more than that could mean overtraining.
i don't know enough about supplements so i can't answer your other questions

1)Training each muscle group directly once a week is the rule of thumb, especially since most muscle groups are targeted indirectly from other lifts.
2)The best and least expensive proteins are milk, chicken, fish, beef, eggs, cheese, etc., etc. Get these first and foremost over any supplement. If, after eating these, you could still use additional protein, and because of your current situation, then I would suggest getting a blended protein supplement to use throughout the day, in addition to FOOD.
3) Most suggest cycling creatine off about every 5-6 weeks. If you reach your desired size, why would you keep using it? Save your money. As far as type of creatine goes, stick witht the original, micronized white powder. Cheapest, and really the one that has been shown to do anything.

I use Optimum Nutrition. It tastes great and I found it online much cheaper tha most stores carry it. I got a 10 pound bag for 50$ at dpsnutrition.com. Same 100% Whey they sell in places like GNC>

Dont worry about supplements at such an early stage, spend your money on quality food as suggested by revball.
As for training each body part once every 7 days, i have to disagree......i would hit each major body group (chest/quads) every 5/6 days.....calfs and the like can take training every 4 days.
good luck
