Can anyone recommend one thyroid booster that can be bought over the counter? Based on personal experience would be great, but I would take a link to an article.

Personally I would avoid trying to mess with to thyroid system by any means other than diet. Soy protein has shown benifits of reducing thyroid conversion that hinders fat loss & also cycling calories a couple of days a week works rather well. I know some people that took synthetic thyroid in hopes of increasing fat loss & ended up with some pretty serious medical problems, so above all else, be careful!!

You are right plfitness, I am one of those and now have only one-half of my thyroid and will be on meds for the rest of my life it seems. And I was taking them under a 'diet' Dr's supervision. So ladislav, steer clear of them. Have you been diagnosed with a thyroid problem? There are 2 websites with good info. They are thyroid-info.com and thyroid.about.com Good luck.

all: thank you for the info. I was not diagnosed with any problems - just playing around from bodybuilding perspective.

You should read the book called The Thyroid Diet. Her website is www.thyroid-info.com I think? Also there is something over the counter called Thyroid Helper it's at www.wellnessresources.com
