First off. Hello everyone. I am new to FT having only just found the site after deciding that needed some definite structure in my exercise routine. hehe I am so new infact that my program only starts this Monday the 16th. I am very confident in the exercise arena but I am having trouble figuring out how to setup the nutrition program. Can anyone give me any pointers? Also let me know if my profile has been adequately filled out.

Thanks much!

Welcome to freetrainers and congrats on turning around your lifestyle. You would want to consume good quality protein like chicken/turkey breasts, egg whites, low fat cottage cheese, tuna, and if you are a vegan you can get the protein from nuts legumes and tofu.
Eat only good carbs, ones that are fibrous, dark green, sweet potatoes, brown/wild rice, grain bread. Stay away from processed foods and also white foods.
For your fats, use good olive oil, flax seed oil, salmon, mackeral, sardines, they all contain omega 3's.
Try not to have any carbs late in the day if you really want to burn fat, that way your body will tap in to your stored fats for energy.
Hope this helps and good luck!

That's just the information I was looking for, thanks so much! I knew that chicken and turkey was the right way to go but with carbs and fats I was completely lost. :) Thanks again.

DOH!! Sorry about posting this question here. I didn't look far enough to see the forum for Nutrition Discussions. Thanks for the info though.

Hehe, thanks Tara. I take absolutely no credit for it but I do use it in abundance. :-)
