This seems to be a common reaction. It was for me. I was eating 1200 already and not losing weight and it told me to eat 2000-2300! What I have learned here is that most of us are starving our bodies without knowing it. The trick is to eat 5-6 small meals a day and let our body know that we will be feeding it regularly so that it won't try to hold on to every calorie. It will take a little time to get used to the idea and you might just put on a little weight at first, but once your body adjusts then you can play with the intake a little at a time until you get results. This is assuming you are on some kind of a regular exercise program that incorporates both resistance training and aerobic/cardio. The program ft gave you is pretty basic, but it is a good place to start. I'm sure you will get some more suggestions also.

Are there any pictures around to show how much food is in a small meal? I learned that I am eating lesser calories than what is recommended, and yet still not loosing much weight.

That's a really good question. A basic guideline for a small meal is both of your fists together. I feel better if I have a meal every two or three hours.

The first thing I found out on this site was that eating less IS NOT always better. So the first thing I changed was to up the calories and the number of times a day that I eat. I didn't believe that I could lose weight by eating more. I didn't realize that for years my body has been operating in starvation mode, therefore not wanting to give up an ounce of wieght.
