Definitely go with the whey supplement if you aren't getting about 1g of protein per pound of bodyweight per day. I recommend creatine. It works, and it's safer than anything you eat from McDonalds :D

Then, change up your routine. Go High-Intensity, Low-Volume or changeup your order of exercising. If you typically do shoulders on a machine, for instance, switch up and do some heavy Supersets (front raise followed by side-raise) with dumbells. The idea is that whenever your body goes, "Huh?" growth will follow, with the exception of skydiving :))

Hey redwing, why don't you want to use creatine? It's as safe as anything else on the market.

I agree with Ogun. There's no magic pill, you just need to changeup your routine. Someone on FT directed me to Max-OT training. Like Ogun said it's a high-intensity low rep program. I just started this week so I can't tell you how well it works, but I feel like this was the best week I've had in a long time.

Here is the site to sign up. It's free you just have to register. Hope this helps.

MAX-OT is without a doubt one of the best weight training programs out there. Simple, but VERY effectice. That's the program that I have been using for the past 8 months and all I can say is WOW.
