Since I love sweets but also watch my weight, I bake with sweeteners. I read somewhere that only aspartame-based sweetener is healthy...the rest is bad and causes all sorts of bad side-effects in the long run. Anyone know anything about this?
aspartame-based; not the answer. Its just as bad-do a search.
I have heard of people baking with apple sause, and honey. Its a little better than regular sugar.

I use Splenda every now and then for smoothies, oatmeal - usually a packet or less - for some reason the idea of putting twenty packets or more of Splenda into a muffin recipe or something makes me a little nervous. When I really want to have something sweet I generally will splurge for the real thing. Just not every day.
