rotater cuff injury

I have had a general soreness in my right shoulder for about a year and a half. I have done all the physical therapy exercises my physician prescribed. Got the MRI results today and the Doc said surgery was my last/only option. OK I get cut on this Wednesday and thats that. He said I'll be in a sling for 3-4 weeks and then rehabing for 6 weeks. I know I am out of commision except for legs and abs workout for pretty much the entire 10 weeks. Its a shame I can't take those magic shots of cortizone forever but.... Here are my questions.
1 Any body have any experience with legs and abs workouts without using the arms?
2 Should I continue to workout the other side while rehabing?
3 Will I become oneside freaky looking if I do?
4 Also If I do, will it take a long time to catch the weak side up with the strong side?
This all kind of sucks but I at least intend to come out of this with decent looking legs and abs.

Thanks to all, Charlie

I'm sorry, I answered your great sex post (nice trick). i gave you a bunch of exercises you probably already do.
Keep training you legs and abs with machine, as much as you can without stressing your shoulders.
The body has a great thing called transference (I think), where all your muscle fibers benefit from working any muscle group. There was astudy where people trained their non-broken arm and their broken arm still benefitted - not as much, but at least it benefitted.
Muscles have memory - so recovery shouldn't be a s daunting as you think, just make sure your form is excellent and you don't push too hard, too fast.
And last but not least - don't listen when the doc tells you your limitations - expect better recovery than he predicts. if I had believed the doctor who told me O would never regain use of my left hand I would be nowhere, instead i was determinesd to prove him wrong and rehabbed as much as I could and forced that hand to work.
Good luck!
