Im new here, but have been working out for sometime. I do lots of crunches and ab exercises. But is there anything I can take that will help speed up the process?

Great looking abs are the results of a very clean diet. You can crunch till the cows come home , but if your diet is not up to par, you are spinning your wheels. Try doing a full body workout along with some cardio and you will see your body change.

Abs are made mostly in the kitchen. Working them over and over with tons of exercises will not speed up the process. Diet is the answer.

They say not to use heavy weights with the abs cuz they are small muscles, and diet is most important, but I was pleasantly surprised after I shed my fat at the results that heavy weights had produced. I have like a 30 pack now and look slicker than Spiderman :)) But seriously, one of many ab exercises I do is the decline bench with a 25lb weight on my chest, holding it in place by crossing my arms over it, then doing situps. Rock hard baby, it's like steel now. Took a year.

i don't use weights for my abe ....but i'll say this much.....i watch a lot of boxing(love it) my cousin-in-law was a boxer.....those guys have some big abs ......but when they work them to much ...shirt off it looks fine...shirt on they look like they have a beer belly.............if your going to do it don't over do it.......

If you do not change your diet and work abs with heavy weight and build the muscle, of course you will look fatter. The new muscle will just push the fat out further. This is where diet must be in order to show them. First you have to build them, then diet to show them. abs are like any other muscle. To build them, they must be hit with resistance and rested. Then proper diet will reveal all the work. Crunches with just bodyweight will not build you the "six pack" you desire.

I'm only 1 month into my exercise program, and I can feel my abs developing. I've cut down most of my fat sources from my diet... and yet the flab is still there... although lesser. Any good supplements to help burn the fat, or does it take a longer time for the flab to go off?

Abdominal fat may be the last bit to come off. The key here is to keep up your dieting correctly. Fat comes off where it wants, not where we want it. This is so many times where people fail in their goals. They think it isn't working when they may well be on the verge, and stop doing the diet. Patience is very key here. The body fights to hold fat, it is it's survival mechanism. Stay with the program, you will see your results. By the way, it is not just fat sources you need to cut. In fact, healthy fats can help you burn fat.

Healthy fats... from fish sources? Heard that Flax seed oil and olive oil is good, as well as fat from peanut butter.
