I finally got the courage to check the ft nutrition program feature, and to my surprise it is awesome specially the analyzer. I have peanut butter jam sandwich everyday. When I added the sandwich to my daily meal, the number of grams of fats was way high to the point where I am not suppose to have any more fat for the rest of the day...
Could you please suggest ideas for breakfast that is healthy, less fat and quick? Specially when I am in a hurry in the morning! Thanks |

When you use the peanut butter ,use real peanut butter without sugar. I posted this one on another thread but here goes my hi protein good energy breakfast before a workout on the weekends. 5 egg whites, 1/3 cup of oatmeal. MIx in a bowl with cinamon, and vanilla and splenda (two tbsp). Add one tbsp of peanut butter and fry in a small pan. It looks and sounds crazy but it tastes really good We are talking 250 calories here and the tbsp of peanut butter is a healthy fat. Many people err in using commercial popular brands of peanut butter which has added sugar and the low fat even more sugar. Eat real foods. When they make a food low fat of fat free, they have to put something in the food to make it taste good and that is always extra sugar or salt. Sugar has calories and you have to count that as well as extra carbs. Pay attention to labels. You would be shocked to find out what is in our foods.

Ditto on the peanut butter. Some even contain corn syrup!(which turns into fat if not burnt off with energy).
Oatmeal with fruits is also good, 1 complete egg with 3 whites. Also try and use a grain bread. Now you have the rest of the day to consume more good food! -------------- You can walk to anywhere you want, it only takes time. Ivan Montreal Canada (aka SpongeBob Square Pants to some!) |

Here is a great energy enhancing quick breakfast, good fats. Cook up the night before a pot of brown rice. Put in fridge overnight and let soak in skim milk or almond milk, just enough to cover it. In the morning, scoop out a cup, put 2 scoops of chocolate whey protein on it, one sliced banana, and sprinkle a tbsp. of flax seed on top. No fats but the healthy EFA's, good protein, and energy giving brown rice for carbs. This is especially good if you train in the morning. An hour later after eating, go train. If not, still a great breakfast and quick and easy.-------------- As far as genetics go, the skies the limit. You are limited only by your mental perception of it. Ron |

Is the sugar content the reason you all prefer the 'natural' p-nut butter? I found that the calories, fat and protein were about the same and the one from Trader Joe's tastes like cardboard to me. It has so much fat that I wonder if unless you are on a gaining diet, is it worth trading a chicken breast for p-nut butter?-------------- ~Victoria~ ...There are no shortcuts to any place worth going.--Beverly Sills |

Natural peanut butter is also not hydrogenated. What kind did you try? If you get the bulk peanut butter at a health food store sometimes they use the bulk peanuts to make it. In my experience the bulk peanuts are often stale. Thus the bulk peanut butter is sometimes not very good. :( I don't eat peanut butter much but I like to have some on an English muffin every now and then, and the other night I used it to make protein bars.
