I need to put on some muscle mass and gain my strength. I play basketball everyday so i lose a lot of carbs because of this. I was recently told to start eating 6 meals a day. Does anybody have any suggestions on what foods i should eat. I usually have a roast beef sandwhich for lunch, a protien shake and toast for breakfast and a large meal at dinner time. What should i be eating the other three meals and is mine diet good right now for weight gain.
I suggest the following: you make breakfast the big meal. Breakfast- 6-8 egg whites with one yolk. You can make them scrambled or any way you prefer. I eat that with oatmeal and or wheat toast sugar free caffeine free iced tea. Mid am protein drink
Mid am snack- protein drink
Lunch- chicken, steak, tuna fish with taters and veggies and low fat pudding for dessert 6 oz cup
mid afternoon snack- Tuna Sandwich and wheat bread water
Dinner- Same as lunch
Bedtime- protein shake
snacks in between peanuts, peanut butter sandwich on whole wheat, nuts cottage cheese etc..
