So, I made it through the first 5 weeks of my new periodized training, and the results are amazing. I was planning for six weeks on, one of "down time", but I twisted a knee up last week at work, and I had to get an intramuscular injection in my arm yesterday, so it's 5 and 1 this time. The problem is, I don't know how to adjust my life around these smaller workouts. I'm used to setting aside 2 hours every night of gym time, now I just go in for a warm-up and stretch and a few minutes of light lifting. This is weird. I'm glad to have the week off, the knee feels better and really needs to rest a bit more, and the knot in my shoulder is smaller, but my mind isn't happy with me. I'm still active this week, but at about 50% of my usual intensity. I'm used to pushing myself everytime I set foot in the gym! I know my body needs the break, but I feel like something's missing in my life.

I agree with Ravenwolf, I do all kinds of research pertaining to abs, diet, nutrition work outs in my down time. Then I get pscyhed to go back to the gym armed with new workouts, diet tips etc. Try it, you can get lost for hours online researching!! Good Luck!
