Please forgive the length of my post, but over the past couple of years I've managed to drop 126 lbs using diet and weight-training.This HAS left the bottom half of my chest looking like a couple of fried eggs.Untill recently I was bench-pressing between 65 & 70 kg a couple of hundred times a day.Now I just do a hundred B/P's with between 70 & 75 kg 3 or 4 times a week.As I don't have a bench I have to use the floor so inclined or declined B/P's is a no-no.My question is will what I'm doing be enough to tone up the bottom half of my chest or do I need to revert back to my old chest routine?.

Your routine is basically for 'toning' as you perform more repetitions and not adding more weight progressively. At this rate, you will need to continue dieting and dropping additional bodyfat in order for your chest to begin shaping up. My advice would be to go heavier and less repetitions so that your chest muscles can be fully taxed. Remember, our bodies adapt fairly quickly so you need to change things up...routine, weights, frequency, etc.
Good luck!

Sorry to keep harping on about his subject, but I took you advice and tried to move up to 80kg and it's a bit too much as I will not be able to perform properly.Would sticking at 75kg and reducing the reps be anymore useful???.

Your body/muscles need to "feel" that heavier weight. Keep pushing them, you will be able to do that 80kg. soon. Make it your last set, it should be hard to complete the reps with it, but this is the idea. This is what makes you stronger. If your muscles never have to do anything heavier, they will never have a reason to get stronger.

tonign has nothing to do with more reps and lower weights, toning is just lowering your body fat percentage,

I'm having trouble following your emuboy, you say you do 70kg a "couple hundred times a day" but you have trouble squeezing out a couple reps at 80KGs? I know this is approx 20 lbs to the US ppl, but if I can do a hundred reps of one weight, I can certainly add 10 - 20 KGs to it?
Am I following you correctly or did I misunderstand.
ALso stay in there with the higher weight / less reps, you will bild more lean muscle which will help burn that excess fat also :D

Yeah your following me correctly, I realise that I was being stupid doing 200 B/P's a day and hardly doing any work on other muscle groups but I've recently got wise. The reason I find it hard to start with is just a mind thing for me that happened every time I've upped the weight on the bar.I just need time to settle in and to be honest I train alone and don't particulary want to drop the bar on myself.
