Does anyone know of a good article on stretching specific muscle groups before lifting? I haven't been able to find one. If you could post a link that would be great!

www.howtostretch.com is good for learning different stretching techniques.

That's a great site bb1! All the back stretches there are positions we do in my yoga class as well.

I'm checking it out; I want to develop a yoga routine for stretching after my warmup. Thanks for the tip!

seanf186, one word of caution to you....you may want to stretch AFTER warming up. Stretching cold can do some damage.

I just started yoga a few weeks ago. I go to Lifetime fitness and they have "Fitness Yoga". It might be different at other places. So far I really enjoy it. I'm always sore the day after, so it must be working some muscles (mainly my back).

They say it improves flexability and is great for injury prevention. It's also very relaxing after the work is over. I'd suggest just giving it a try and seeing if you like it or not.

Thanks for the feedback. They have classes here, will let you know or make a post as to how it goes. Glad to hear things are working well for you.

At the very least you could use some of the poses at your next competition. They'd be a bit unorthodox, but very interesting to watch. ;)
