Hi everyone.
I'm just looking for a little encouragment... I've been working out for the past 5 months regularly and I'm 6 weeks into the 12 week program for toning, fat loss and abs. I really like the structure of my program but, I haven't noticed to much of a difference in my body the last 6 weeks. It could just be that I eat like a horse. The first 3.5 months I lost 7lbs and lost 8% body fat...I'm at 20%now. I'm 5'2 weigh 115lbs I work out 5 days a week do the elliptical machine 2 X a week for 1/2 hr and take a 1 hr spinning class 3 X a week. Energy wise I've never felt better but, what I'm wondering is if it's realistic for me to expect more results at this phase. I would like to see my legs a bit thinner and more defined since, this is were I carry most of my weight. Any advice anyone could provide would be greatly appreciated. I'm wiery of taking fat burners but, if that is the only way to go than I would consider it...especially if they help to curb my appetite. Thnx. |

thnx. i appreciate the input. in the morning when i get home from the gym i have protein pwder in water then 1 hr after i have kashi crunch with soy milk. then, i'll have a fruit or yogurt around 11 am. lunch time is what is killing me. i order mexican 3x a week and the rest of the week i'll have sushi. for dinner i'll have spring lettuce with tuna and tomatoes...no oil or mayo. then 1 hr before bed i'll have 1/2 cup of cottage cheese. and, every weekend i'll have cold stones or something just as bad. i really need to cut out the mexican food. without it i'm consuming 900 to 1000 calories i could only imagine what is lurking in the 'chile relleno'. i know i have to be realistic about it and i do want to see progress so i'll start writing everything down again.
thanks again. |

Ooooh. You got to cut out the coldstone ice cream every weekend. Ice cream has a ton of fat in it. I wouldn't take the fat burners, I don't think you need them. What's a spinning class btw. Is it riding on stationary bikes? As for the elliptical machine usage, I'm not sure if half an hour is enough to lose fat unless you're doing it at at least 75% of your max heart rate. Intensity is whats important. Good luck.

you guys are great. thank you.
timbaland, what does 'btw' mean? yeah, spinning class does take place on a stationary bike. it's great and we'll work from 60% up to 90% of our heart rate. some days we train for speed and others for strength. as far as the ellipical goes i never go one consistant pace, i go from moderate to very fast. i do very it...but, i love structure so i'm going to start HIIT on my next elliptical day. thanks raven wolf...also, the mexican food tips are great. looks like it's going to be fajitas for lunch today! thanks! |

Ravenwolfs plan looks good. One important thing to keep in mind is to constantly change your intensity to get results.

Sorry, I mean change your plan and its intensity now and then so your body doesn't get used to it.

I know I should add different cardio work outs but, for now the elliptical machine and the spinning classes are really the only cardio I enjoy. Although,...my roller skating partner is back in town...and, as soon as summer is over I'll start running trails again.
btw, ;) I ate very clean yesterday and avoided the after lunch sluggishness...I feel great and I'm definately motivated to keep my diet clean...thnx again. |
