question. I've been working out. not just reading a mag passively on the elliptical machine but really pushing myself 5 times a week for 1-2 hours. 10 months. lifting weights. (love it) I see the difference in my body. I feel it.
but I haven't been restricting my food stuff too much. i thought I would concentrate on exercising "and the rest (wiser food choices & humane portions) would come" I love/need coca cola for energy @ work. and then i keep bulking up in anticipation of 'eating right' again.
i've seen my parents weight go up and down by 100lbs many times over the years. i-m prob. 40lbs overweight. but solid girl.
will my fat turn to muscle--and then i will never ever be able to lose a drop? i'll just be thhis monster woman hulking the earth in search of raw cookie dough & coca-cola? I;ve done the extreme food deals, raw, no carbs, and that leaves me wildly out of control. i do the lax easy food stuff and that leads me back to coke & dough & pizza
I've read books. i dunno. am i doomed?
any advice appreciated. sincerely, betty (thank you!)

Fat will never turn in to muscle. In order to see the muscles we are working so hard to build, we have to lose bodyfat. To do that we have to eat a clean, healthy, high protein, lowfat diet. And add some cardio exercise to your routine. There are hundreds of posts here that detail what 'eating clean' entails. A good place to start is to fill out your profile and use the ft nutrition tracker to lay out a plan for your eating needs. Knowing how many calories you are eating now to maintain, would be helpful too. Trading fat for muscle is not something that happens overnight. And I'm sorry to say that Coke, pizza and cookie dough are the first things you have to drop.
