okay. i've decided to post everything i eat...hoping to be deterred from eating unhealthy. for the most part i think i do okay; once or twice a week i'm a little out of control. besides, i would like to lose the last 3lbs to get to 18% bf.

weekends are the worst for me...i started early.
today, so far i had...

1/2 cup of Hi Lo cereal
1/2 cup soy milk

2 hand fulls of chex mix

chile relleno with rice and beans...no tortillas...cheese was bad enough.

2 1/2 cups of chocolate malted crunch ice cream...all this food by 3pm. shameless. i'll keep dinner as light as possible if i manage to get hungry again.

You don't eat enough protein or calories. Search the message boards about how to eat for weight loss and muscle retention!
Good luck!

for dinner i went to a barbie-q...did okay. stayed away from the chips and stuck with the veggie skewers...did have a soda and a few beers...avoided the cake my roomie baked entirely.
sunday wasn't to bad...although, i went without much protein again. had kashi for breakfast. i went skating in venice beach got hungry there so stoped at a cafe on the broadwalk to have lunch; turkey sandwich and a couple beers. then for dinner i had a turkey salad with a small slice of olive bread.
hopefully, i'll get to the point were regaurdless of social settings i'll make the best food choices possible. i am glad i kept my proportions sane...however, i did have quit a few beers this weekend. i'm sure i'll do much better today.

Since you are not posting amounts or the times you eat it is hard to help. Like asimmer said if you really want more help you need to share more info. You should be eating at least .5-1g of protein per pound of bodyweight and eating 6 small meals through out the day, regularly. Beer and soft drinks are no-nos if you are trying to lose weight. Do you workout regularly?

I reserve my protein shake for after my workouts as that is when the body needs it most, I've heard. As for getting enough protein, it shouldn't be that hard if you calculate it. I get between 175 and 200g a day. One 6oz cheicken breast has around 35g alone. A can of tuna (in water) has another 40. As far as your carbs go, you shouldn't get them all from fruits and veggies. You need some whole grains too, like oats, whole wheat bread, tortillas or pasta, brown rice. To get where you want to be takes sacrifice and dedication. Try keeping track of what and when you eat for 3-4 days and calculate the nutrition facts. Then design a healthier plan from that. It is time consuming but worth it in the end.

i was a vegetarian for 7 yrs...meat usually isn't the first food i think of when i'm hungry...yet, my body responds so well to it. i like to hear that i should eat whole grains...i love them...i'll just watch my proportions and keep them earlier in the day before i go skating or something. great...thank you. i'll carry index cards with me so i can keep track of what i eat...however; i do eat out everyday so that might be a little difficult when i comes to getting the break down of the nutritional information...depending on where i eat. thanks.

okay. today i did it. i decided this morning to stock my fridge at work with good healthy food...apples, cottage cheese, salad mix, low fat and fat free salad dressing, turkey, mushrooms and bell peppers. i figured by doing this it would be easier to avoid the catered lunches that are mostly mexican and chinese food.

tomorrow i'll be able to post everything i eat today with the nutritional break down.
