whast the whole thing with ppl drinking coffee while working out, what exactly is it supposed to do......how much should you drink.....and how should you drink it, black, with milk and suger, sweet and low?????

You should avoid caffine completely if you can while weight training. Caffine is a diertic, which pushes water from your muscles.

what?!? you see people drinking coffee *at* the gym? like weight in one hand, latte in the other? ;o) i've never seen that before.
sometimes i'll have some coffee or tea about 45 min before i do cardio or lift. generally i'll do that only if i'm really tired. seems to help me get started...

The idea is probably for the caffine push. I always drink a cup of green tea before cardio, one for a little extra push from a bit of caffine(I don't need much, and it is a bit of a fat burning aid). I have a water bottle with me while doing my cardio for fluids. I don't think it wise to drink coffee while working out though.

yea dude...i guess its like a new thing. im just always seeing ppl at the gym drinking coffee while they work out, i thought it was some new thing

I thought I just read too, that caffeine and creatine don't mix. I suppose they could be drinking decaf, I do. Coffee drinks are the latest fad. Why do you think there's a Starbuck's on every corner...jk

I've tried to cut down on my caffeine intake lately (a lot), but a little caffeine before cardio really gives me a boost.
I make my afternoon protein shake w/ coffee sometimes, I'm just a coffee junkie, unfortunately.

It gives me a gigantic kick!!!!! (o; (o; (o;
Ah well, seriously caffein can help to give a boost but drink it before the work out not in between the dumbbells....
