I did post this on the newbie board. That was before I saw this board. I am sorry!!! I read a few of these posts and will add more info than the original post had.
I feel pretty comfortable using the exercise section of this site, but the nutritional part is a little confusing to me.
From the Nutritional Plan on FT - P 224 g, C 448 g, F 36 g, CAL 2984.
I am a vegetarian - I was born and raised veggie, so I won't be changing that any time soon. *grin*
Everyone keeps saying that nutrition is key and I got a great message from a user saying that you should eat for your body not your mind.
I would love to get a handle on the nutrition aspect and incorporate that early on in this change, but don't know how.
Should I be adding the supplements I read about on the posts? Protein shakes? Any suggestions or tips? Either of other resources or how to use the nutritional area on here...
Especially so with being a vegetarian. Most vegetarian sources of protein are at best not the best. You will need quality amino acids that you can get from protein supplements, even amino acid tablets. If you don't have a problem with dairy, eggs and cottage cheese could become your best friends. Here is a decent site with some great ways to combine vegetarian food sources to make complete proteins. Many of these you may or may not know, considering you being vegan all your life. Hope it helps.
