I typically eat small meals/snacks from morning to dinner. At dinner I usually eat a medium sized meal before working out, and finish my day with a whey shake.
Unfortanetly right now I only get protien in my breakfast, lunch, dinner and pre-bed snack. My brunch and after-lunch snack are some sort of fruit or granola bar (I know, granola's got a load of sugar).
The thing is, I don't know what I can take for protien. I am on sort of a budget so I really don't want to use the extra whey. I always eat a tuna sandwich for lunch (mustard only) and I really dislike tuna, so eatting more of that is out of the question.
Do you guys know any quick fix protein snacks that fit the price range of "poor graduate"?

cottage cheese works for me (low fat). Sometimes I'll get some beef jerky, but, watch out for sodium. sardines are good also with good fat.

I agree. Cottage Cheese to go along with the fruit, or any other fat free cheese such as ricotta, laughing cow light cheese, string cheese. Also, yogurt that is low in sugar, hard boiled eggs, nuts, nut butters, or instead of a granola bar, eat some low sugar protein bar or shake.

I had the same problem, then i realized that if you put jsut a little sugar in your cottage cheese, it actually tastes a LOT better. Half a container of 1% cottage chesse gives you apx 50 grams of protein, pretty good for a snack :)

I just wanted to share with you all about a delicious breakfast I had this morning. I made an omelette with four egg whites, fresh, organic asparagus and some vegen white cheese. That's the first time I've ever used only egg whites and I found it to be delicious!

There are lots of add-ins for cattage cheese: salsa, sugarfree jello, chives/onions,ranch dressing powder.

Egg whites are great! I have gotten so deperate for high protein snacks that I will sometimes eat lean lunch meats from the package! Now I have found that just making sure everything I eat has at least a little protein makes it easy to get all that I need. It may take 5 meals a day, but I'm doing it! I use the diet tracker all the time. The cottage cheese tips sound great, can't wait to try some!

string cheese is a lower fat snack option with protein in it.
