Sitting here reading my monthly, Muscle and Fitness magazine, I came across a small article entitled "Drop the Lats, The quest for a wide back". According to the article after your last set of each back exercise in your workout, you should grab onto a pull-up bar with a very wide grip and hang for a couple seconds to stretch the lats. Then do 1/4 rep pull-ups (lifting body only a couple inches, and holding at the top for a second or two) for about 10 reps. And after the 10 reps, hang for approx 5-10 more seconds. This will help burn out your wings and widen your back. Sounded interesting to me, I'm gonna try it out will let you guys know the results. Just wanted to share the info.

Did you ever try this? Did you notice any difference?

It is called static stretching...you can do that for just about everybody part. basically at the point the muscle is contracted the most (ex-when you shrug up and then you would normally go back down, this just shrug up and hold it and really squeeze it) squeez it and hold it (kinda of like flexing say you tricep after each set...try it works great!!!!

Thanks Mutt. I forgot all about static stretching.
